Back in 2017, I landed my first official bookkeeping job for a construction company - a natural next step after years of working as a cashier and hotel receptionist. Numbers always made sense to me, and helping businesses stay organised felt rewarding. But even then, I could see the cracks: outdated systems, manual processes, and a general resistance to change in how financial tasks were handled.
 

Over the years, I moved between roles - from sales ledger assistant in a darts manufacturing company to payroll in a vehicle refurbishment business. I gained hands-on experience across industries and learned how vital good financial systems are to operations. In 2022, I finally stepped into my first role in a traditional accounting practice. That’s when things really clicked - and also when I knew something needed to change.

I found myself craving more freedom to lead, modernise, and connect. I wanted to build something that felt human, agile, and deeply supportive - something that served small and medium-sized businesses with the same care often reserved for big corporate clients. And I wanted to do it while working remotely, from anywhere in the world, inspired by the flexible teams and international clients I was seeing grow online.
